Vegetable Dish

So pretty.

My very first item for sale is a little vegetable dish with its own plate. It is made in England but I'm sorry, there are no markings on the dish or plate although the dinner plates that came with the dish, (which I'm keeping.... sorry) have this emblem stamped on them.

A beautiful addition to your own pretty crockery. The pattern is an unusual autumnal brown. The plate measures 24cms and the little tureen is about 13cms high and 20cms long.

Click on the picture of the dish or emblem to be magically transported to my shopping page. Thank you..

  1. That's the mark for the British Anchor Pottery Company from Longton, Staffs. It was used pre-1913. See that's what you need friends for!!

  2. You're a genius. How do you know that?

Didn't sell and then the 8yo said she would have been sad if we'd sold it. So tres happy now.

Also according to another learned friend it is a garvy boat, not a veg dish as I thought.

So pleased I've got this new bloggy.... it's like Open Uni for me, reading 'Not quite paid attention to the Antiques Roadshow studies with a side order of Pottery'... So happy and my parents will be so proud when I get yet another entirely commercially useless BA Hons!

  4. The Return of the Native: Me too! But it is quite dainty so probably not big enough for soup......or maybe it's an early Weight Watchers Soup tureen.......there's a thought...
